Calculation breakdown & assumptions

Full-year Belgian resident, single with no dependants, private-sector white-collar employee in Brussels-Capital. Twelve equal full-time regular payments of at least EUR 4,000 per month; no other income, tax reductions, actual expenses or benefits. Supply your municipality’s income-year surcharge rate.

Annual assessment estimate, not payroll withholding. Includes 13.07% ordinary employee social contributions, capped employment expenses, allowance tax credit, Brussels federal/regional allocation, your municipal surcharge and final annual special social contribution. No automatic 13.92-month annualization. Lower salaries are rejected because work bonuses require detailed payroll data. For 2026 income (assessment 2027), the July reform and August Gazette establish the EUR 11,550 basic allowance. The older EUR 11,180 guidance amount is superseded. The reformed special social contribution starts with income 2028 and is not applied here. Check the supported profile.

No automatic 13.92-month annualization. Lower salaries are rejected because work bonuses require detailed payroll data. Professional expenses reduce taxable income; they are not a cash deduction from salary. The personal allowance creates a tax credit, rather than moving the tax brackets. Municipal rates vary by town and year.

Questions about Belgium salary after tax

Is this my exact payslip or tax assessment?

No. It is an estimate for the supported profile and selected assumptions. Annual assessment amounts are averaged over twelve months; employer withholding can differ. Voluntary deductions and unsupported benefits can change bank-account pay.

Can I include employer contributions or bonuses?

Enter regular employee cash salary only. Employer contributions are not deducted from it. Bonuses, extra holiday pay, salary sacrifice and unequal payments require separate calculations.

Is my salary stored or sent anywhere?

No. Calculation runs locally in your browser, including Germany’s BMF algorithm. Salary values stay out of URLs, requests, storage, logs and analytics. Changing country or year clears them.
