Calculation breakdown & assumptions
Full-year employee age 23–63, tax class I, childless, no church tax, statutory health/pension/unemployment/care insurance. Twelve equal monthly payments above EUR 2,000; no bonuses. Outside Saxony unless selected. The displayed reference additional health rate must be changed to your insurer’s actual full rate.
Monthly payroll estimate using the locally translated BMF PAP. Annual amounts are twelve identical monthly results, not a personal income-tax return assessment. The tax allowance for insurance is not deducted again as cash. 2024 is not offered until its December catch-up algorithm is independently verified. Check the supported profile.

Twelve equal monthly payments. Wage tax and contributions are calculated for a regular month and multiplied by twelve; this is not your final tax-return assessment.

BMF PAP rounding is applied at its documented steps. Each employee social insurance component rounds to cents monthly, half upward, before annualizing twelve equal months. Other displayed amounts are rounded to two decimals.

Monthly payroll estimate using the locally translated BMF PAP. Annual amounts are twelve identical monthly results, not a personal income-tax return assessment. The tax allowance for insurance is not deducted again as cash. 2024 is not offered until its December catch-up algorithm is independently verified.
The official payroll allowance for insurance reduces the wage-tax calculation; actual employee insurance contributions are then deducted once from cash salary. Your personal tax-return assessment can differ.
2026 payroll rules instead of simple salary tax slabs
Wage tax uses BMF’s payroll program, with insurance allowances and specified rounding. Applying income-tax rates directly to gross salary gives the wrong result.

Questions about Germany salary after tax
Is this my exact payslip or tax assessment?
No. It is an estimate for the supported profile and selected assumptions. Regular monthly withholding is annualized over twelve equal payments. Voluntary deductions and unsupported benefits can change bank-account pay.
Can I include employer contributions or bonuses?
Enter regular employee cash salary only. Employer contributions are not deducted from it. Bonuses, extra holiday pay, salary sacrifice and unequal payments require separate calculations.
Is my salary stored or sent anywhere?
No. Calculation runs locally in your browser, including Germany’s BMF algorithm. Salary values stay out of URLs, requests, storage, logs and analytics. Changing country or year clears them.
