2026 salary tax slabs
Annual taxable income in EUR. These rates combine income tax and national insurance for the supported insured, below-AOW-age profile. Each rate applies only to the income within its band.
| Annual income band | Rate |
|---|---|
| Up to EUR 38,883 | 35.75% |
| Above EUR 38,883 to EUR 78,426 | 37.56% |
| Above EUR 78,426 | 49.5% |
General and employment tax credits
The general credit is up to EUR 3,115, reduced by 6.398% of income above EUR 29,736, and zero above EUR 78,426. The credit depends on aggregate income; this calculator assumes salary is your only income.
The employment credit rises with earnings and then falls. Above EUR 132,920 it is zero. Credits are applied only up to the calculated tax; unused amounts do not create a cash payment here.
| Salary above | Credit base | Change on additional salary |
|---|---|---|
| EUR 0 | EUR 0 | 8.324% |
| EUR 11,965 | EUR 996 | 31.009% |
| EUR 25,845 | EUR 5,300 | 1.95% |
| EUR 45,592 | EUR 5,685 | -6.51% |
Ordinary employer-paid Zvw is excluded from employee deductions. Your separate health-insurance premium and any pension contribution can reduce spendable pay further.
