Annual income tax rounds once to euro cents, half upward, as an estimate convention. Supplied employee contributions are already in cents. Monthly results divide annual amounts by twelve; this does not reproduce FSS payroll rounding.

Malta single tax rates and social security
Enter total ordinary taxable employment cash pay for the year, including taxable bonuses. Monthly input means one twelfth of this annual total. Income tax uses the resident single schedule; married, parent and special rates are outside this calculator.
Annual salary from EUR 18,000 is supported. Lower nonzero salaries are excluded because employment deductions and other low-income reliefs need a separate calculation. Zero salary is accepted with zero contributions.
Enter your actual annual employee Class 1 social security contributions from payroll records or an employer estimate. These depend on basic weekly wage, age, contribution weeks and exemptions. They cannot be reliably inferred from annual taxable pay that includes bonuses. Update the supplied amount when changing salary or comparing years.
For employees born from 1 January 1962, the ordinary weekly employee rate is 10% within category C and a fixed maximum in category D: EUR 55.93 in 2026. Lower wages, other ages and special categories have separate rules. These figures explain the official tables; this calculator uses the amount you supply.
Employee social security reduces cash pay once and does not reduce the income-tax base here. Employer contributions and the employer-only Maternity Leave Fund are separate. Tax refunds, credits and special deductions are excluded.
At EUR 36,000 annual taxable salary, income tax is EUR 5,600. Illustrative supplied employee contributions of EUR 2,000 give EUR 28,400 annual pay after included deductions, or EUR 2,366.67 per month. EUR 2,000 is an editable example, not an automatic contribution estimate.

Will this equal my payslip?
This is an annual estimate with monthly averages. Payroll timing, rounding and personal circumstances can change your actual payment. Include taxable bonuses in annual gross and replace the example contributions with your actual annual employee amount.
Is my salary stored or sent anywhere?
Salary and contribution settings stay in browser memory. They never enter URLs, storage, requests, analytics or logs. Changing country or income year clears salary.
