THE NUMBERS, EXPLAINED
Your 2026 calculation
1 Jan 2026 – 31 Dec 2026. Replace the illustrative annual contribution amounts with actual mandatory employee contributions for the salary being compared. Cash contributions are deducted once; only their capped tax relief reduces chargeable income. The MYR 400 rebate is non-refundable and stops above MYR 35,000 chargeable income. 2026 uses standing annual parameters corroborated by the 2026 HASiL specification; recheck final YA 2026 return guidance. Supplied employee SOCSO must include any actual LINDUNG 24 Jam (SKBBK) contributions from June 2026; never infer enrolment or carry 2026 amounts into 2025.
Chargeable annual income is truncated to whole MYR for this annual assessment estimate; final included deductions round to cents, half upward. No monthly PCB minimum or five-sen remittance rounding.
Malaysia tax reliefs and actual contributions
Enter mandatory employee EPF and employee SOCSO/EIS totals for the full income year, including any LINDUNG 24 Jam (SKBBK) contributions actually deducted from June 2026. Use your payroll estimate or annual records. The calculator does not infer contribution status or contribution-table amounts from salary. Employer contributions do not belong in these fields.
The personal relief is MYR 9,000. Mandatory employee EPF relief is capped at MYR 4,000; combined SOCSO/EIS relief is capped at MYR 350. Cash contributions are deducted once, even when their tax relief is capped. Voluntary EPF, life insurance and other personal reliefs are outside this profile.
Annual chargeable income is rounded down to whole ringgit for this estimate. Resident bands apply, followed by a non-refundable MYR 400 individual rebate when chargeable income is at most MYR 35,000. This rebate stops above the limit; it does not gradually taper.
For illustrative annual salary MYR 72,000, mandatory employee EPF MYR 7,920 and SOCSO/EIS MYR 500, chargeable income is MYR 58,650. Income tax is MYR 2,451.50 and pay after included deductions is MYR 61,128.50. The contribution amounts are examples, not a contribution-table calculation.
These are annual estimates for YA 2026, not monthly PCB withholding. The 2026 specification corroborates standing annual parameters; subsequent budget announcements are not applied as enacted tax changes. Recheck final YA 2026 return guidance when published.
